Tatars in Lithuania

While researching the history of the Manor and its connection to the Tatars in Lithuania, we were lucky to meet many people interested in the preservation of the history and its culture.

Tamara Krinickienė, a descendant of Tatar Baranauskas, the former owner of the Vinksnupiai Manor, and Liusia Gaidukevičienė, the Founder of the Tatar Ethnocultural Museum, warmly accepted our invitation to meet and share their memories. We are pleased to announce that it was agreed to transfer all exhibits accumulated by Liusė Gaidukevičienė to the Manor once it is restored. Liuse and Tamara, who both live in Alytus, did not hide their joy, and hoped that in a few years this vision could materialize.

Violeta Raulinaitienė, the Clerk of Bartninkai, who is very enthusiastic about this project, also joined the meeting. The traditional cake baked by guests from Alytus according to an authentic Tatar recipe, was greatly enjoyed by everyone.
