Kampiniai Mound
The Kampiniai mound and its settlement, also known as Apsutkalnis, is a cultural heritage site in the municipality of Kalvarija. It is located about 10.1 km away from Vinksnupiai Manor. The mound is built on a separate hill, its site is oval, elongated in a west-east direction and has dimensions of 50 × 20 m. The slopes of the mound are moderately steep measuring 7 metres high.
It is believed that there was a settlement at the foot of the hill, which covered an area of about 1.5 hectares. Its cultural layers date back to the middle of the 1st millennium. In 1994, excavations revealed plain and smoothed pottery, as well as a posthole. The mound is recognised as a state protected monument. Its territory covers an area of 35258 m².
Currently, the mound and its elements are not properly maintained making public access difficult.
